It would be great to know your thoughts on investing in a contax and which model/type you prefer? I keep toying with the idea as an upgrade to my Pentax P+S for sharper / better quality images?
Hi Kim, the two Contaxs i have are v different - i.e. the G2 is a rangefinder with multiple lenses and the T2 is just point
-and-shoot so one focal length. The T2 is great (if it’s working…!) - the best point and shoot you can buy really. Pics are beautiful and colours are so good. But if its clarity youre looking for a point and shoot prob isnt the road you’re looking at. You’re probably ready to upgrade to something with better glass. The G2 lenses are very very good - beautiful clarity. But its a different beast… and a v different price tag sadly. So basically it depends what youre looking to shoot / what the pics will be used for :)
Thanks so much Alice, great to hear your opinion on these. I would be looking to shoot weddings mainly so something able to respond quick in the moment that can deliver good quality capture / also with a flash - so sounds T2 could be a good option!
Just chiming in here! I had a contax T2 for a very long time, but had so many issues with the autofocus it ended up just not being reliable. I splurged on the T3 after a trusted photographer friend recommended it and I’ve never looked back. It hardly EVER misses focus and it’s sooo sharp! Definitely comes with the hefty price tag though…

Great to know - i'm wondering whether I might make the swap...
Thanks Summer that’s so good to know!
