I really connected in to that bit about not reaching out soon enough, like i have to be desperate to do that sort of reach out that connects but infact the more you do it the easier it gets and like you mentioned then you are in their heads for something else you hadn’t imagined. Also, the limiting beliefs 🫠, in fact it’s what I wrote my Substack on this week.
The Fuji GFX system is a dream. The latitude it provides is closer to film and the depth and image quality you can achieve is so satisfying. The worst thing about it, in my opinion, is focusing. It's either a bit clunky manually or the autofocus settings are using so much technology and trying so hard that they're actually missing the mark. It's definitely a larger package and super heavy with lenses as well. It's a no brainer in studio but I consider it carefully when travelling. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on rejection, self sabotage, and shyness. SO relatable! Can't wait to hear from Lucy- one of my photo idols!
Yes focussing seems to be everyone's hesitancy with it - but apparently the second generation which came out later is a lot better... But still def something to consider. For travel I think it's def too big - is purely as a workhorse for those commercial shoots that I need it I think. So great to hear your thoughts!
Yes, I've found pitching less effective these past months!! I feel the same, that brands are going back to pre covid times, and that the ones that answer to a pitch are the small brands with very low budget.
Times are definitely changing!
I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us, I feel less alone navigating these things 😌

Thank you Milena <3.
Interesting you're feeling the same with pitching as well... It's so good to share the knowledge so we can all start to pivot our working practises.
