3 SHOOTS, 3 COUNTRIES, 3 WEEKS
And the importance of the 3 C's: communication, chemistry and crew.
How are you guys?
Thank you so much for your patience the past month - am so glad to be back on home soil for a couple of weeks. I have so much I want to update you on today and not sure how to structure it so I thought instead of writing I would do an audio episode for you all. For those who are currently Free subscribers, instead of Paid, this should be a good sample of how it sounds, and whereas the Case Studies and Interviews are more structured and in depth, can give you a bit of a flavour of what’s behind the paywall.
I’m in a chatty mood so it’s a bit of a ramble but I touch on how much my work affects my mental health, how important the crew is on a shoot, parenting and travelling for work, editorial and video shoots I’ve got coming up and generally download what I’m thinking about work and photography at the moment.
Anyway I hope you enjoy it. If you do, I’m keeping the special offer for 20% off annual subscriptions to paid subscriptions open for 24 more hours. That’s a year’s worth of content for just £40. So, if you think this audio is something you can handle more of, come and join the Paid Subscribers for monthly recordings of either in-depth case studies, or interviews with fascinating industry people, access to the Paid Subscriber chat and job and mentorship opportunities over on the Job Board and practical advice like lighting set ups, in detail - diagrams and all. If that sounds good to you - hit the button below, or just try it out for a month for just £4.99 and see what you think.

January Journal Prompts (that you can do any time)
The book I speak about half way through is ‘Who not how’ by Dan Sullivan (recommended by Avery Swail - always full of great recs). I’ve just got it on Audible so will feedback once i’ve finished it. Any other books about business and growth you recommend? Please do put in the notes. I’m feeling energised so need to ride that wave with some good business-building literature (if only I felt like this all the time…).

Hey Alicia - great content as always!
I love the idea of making it a more interactive space - I think the peer support can be so so helpful and a way for us subscribers to build our own community.
Might be a bit late to throw in some questions for the travel photography focussed episode but I'm suepr excited for this. I've been feeling very much the same recently in that I'd like to explore more of this kind of photography (it's always been my first love - street and documentarty photography) so I'd love to hear more about what opportunities there are for photographers. Apart from pitching stories to magazines (which I'm also interested to hear more about) and working with hotels, where else can we find opportunities?
Can't wait to hear more. I switched to being a paid subscriber and although a little more expesnive for to AUD, I'm feeling like it's so worth the investment. Thanks for being here for and with us :)
LOVING listening to you!!! I really am hooked to your Substack🫶🏽 thank you
